You Can Admire Washington DC’s Beautiful Cherry Blossoms Without Stepping Out

The seasons will continue to turn while you’re cooped up inside, which unfortunately means that many will have to miss out on cherry blossom season at Washington DC.
Thankfully, the Trust for the National Mall and the National Cherry Blossom Festival are convinced you don’t have to physically be at the Tidal Basin to enjoy the blooms this year. The pair are debuting a ‘BloomCam’ that lets you witness the capital’s cherry blossoms in real-time anywhere in the world.
According to the National Park Service’s predictions, the cherry blossoms will peak between April 2 and April 5, and that’s when BloomCam will be made available. The flowers are said to peak when 70 percent of the cherry blossoms of the Yoshino cherry trees by the Tidal Basin are open.
For those who can make a trip there, the National Cherry Blossom Festival will run from March 20 through April 11, with COVID-19 preventive measures in place.
For everyone else, don’t let travel limitations take away the spring in your step. In certain instances, the digital experience may actually be more fulfilling than the original.
