A dermatologist known as Dr Jessica recently had her video depicting a C-section go viral, as it cleverly illustrates the process using Play-Doh and other kid-friendly items. Dr Jessica reprises this delightful style for a new campaign instructing young women how to spot signs of breast cancer at home.
The video—produced alongside media outlet Tyla, breast cancer fundraisers Tickled Pink and Breast Cancer Now, nonprofit CoppaFeel! and LADbible’s internal creative agency Joyride—portrays different shapes, sizes and skin colors of breasts using kids’ clay. The material serves as a wonderful medium for replicating stretch marks, nipples, and dimpling.
In the clip, Dr Jessica explains that everyone’s baseline for normal breasts is different, so the best way to spot anything critical is to feel them for unusual changes regularly. An early detection improves the chances of being treated successfully.
“We hope that this impactful video will help thousands of people to understand the signs and symptoms of breast cancer,” shared Manveet Basra, head of public health and wellbeing at Breast Cancer Now, in a statement via Creative Boom. “Most breast changes won’t be cancer; however, it’s important to get any new or unusual breast changes checked by a GP, as the earlier breast cancer is diagnosed the better chance of successful treatment so the importance of regular breast checking cannot be underestimated.”
