Dyson Launches The Domestic Version Of The Lightsaber, A Laser Vacuum

Dyson, reputed for turning everyday appliances into high-tech gadgets, has launched a vacuum cleaner that looks straight out of a sci-fi film. The cordless Dyson V15 Detect is designed to keep your home ultra-clean with… a green laser in the cleaner head.
The brand justifies that with a laser, you’ll be able to spot dust particles that would have otherwise been indiscernible to the human eye, thus keeping your living space speckless. There’s no escaping the Force this time.
The light is green as the color has the ability to “create the best contrast between dust and floor,” Dyson claims. As for the cleaner head, it is deliberately positioned at “a 1.5-degree angle, 7.3mm off the ground” for the laser to beam most prominently on the floor.
For further detection, the vacuum cleaner is built with an LCD display identifying the size and amount of dust particles it is collecting. Its sensor will also supposedly adjust the vacuum’s suction when more dust is detected.
Unlike most vacuum cleaners, pet and human hairs aren’t going to drag it down—the V15 Detect has an “anti-tangle conical brush bar” that actively spirals hairs caught onto the cleaner head so you can easily dispose of them.
All these futuristic fixings come at a price, though. The Dyson V15 Detect will not only suck up unnoticeable dust particles, but also US$699.99 from your bank account.
Along with the V15 Detect, Dyson has also introduced two other vacuums. There’s a super-efficient Dyson Outsize that’s priced at US$799.99, while the Dyson Omniglide with an all-around swivel costs US$399.99.
The company notably made headlines for introducing a functional toy vacuum for young children. This could be the grownup version to bring more amusement to the mundane.
