The London Underground Map Could Be Getting A Major Facelift

The iconic London Underground map will be getting a massive overhaul if Sadiq Khan wins the mayoral election next month.
The map was designed by 1932 by Harry Beck, and with the introduction of new lines over the years, the map has become an overcrowded mass of overlapping colored lines.
Now, a redesign might be in the works as plans have been announced to revamp one of the most confusing parts—the Overground network.
The London Overground line is a source of frustration for Londoners and tourists. The six separate train lines are all colored in orange and are somehow presented as if they are one connected line, causing a lot of confusion.
If Khan wins, he has pledged to give individual names to the various Overground train lines that cut across the city. “TfL’s London Overground network has grown considerably over recent years, and to reflect this I’ll launch a program to name individual routes, giving each its own identity,” he said in his manifesto.
