500M LinkedIn Accounts Allegedly Leaked: How To Find Out If Yours Is One Of Them

Following a massive Facebook data breach, an archive containing data scrapped from 500 million LinkedIn profiles has allegedly been put up for sale on a popular hacker forum. According to CyberNews, two million records have already been leaked as proof of the breach.
The author of the forum post has asked for a 4-figure sum for the 500 million profiles, though users on the forum can view the 2 million samples for approximately US$2 worth of forum credits.
CyberNews’ investigation team has confirmed the leak through the samples provided on the forum. However, it is currently unclear if the leaked profiles are up-to-date or a compilation of previous breaches. A statement by LinkedIn on April 8 said that there had been no new data breach, hinting that it could be the latter.
