Nike Gives Gently-Worn, Defective Sneakers A Second Life By Refurbishing Them

Nike has revealed its latest initiative in sustainability that allows you to buy refurbished Nike shoes.
Dubbed Nike Refurbished, the program is a “fully circular consumer offering” where gently-worn, like-new, or slightly imperfect performance and lifestyle footwear in both men’s and women’s sizings is refurbished.
Nike shared that this will extend access to the brand’s products at a value, which will be sold in selected Nike stores.
The process for the initiative is simple. Customers are encouraged to return the shoes to Nike, which will then be inspected and graded by experts.
Each eligible pair of kicks will then be cleaned and sanitized. The sneakers will then be refurbished and return to stores at a reduced price.
Nike states that up to 15 stores in the US will be selling the refurbished shoes by the end of April, with plans to continue scaling in the coming year.
