Starbucks Adds Meaning To ‘Star’ In Its Name With Stellar Space-Themed Items

If you’re into all things outer space, Starbucks’ new accessory line could have you over the moon. The coffee chain’s arm in China has just launched an array of space-themed drinkware and bags spotlighting Captain Bearista, the endearing astronaut to help it put the “star” in Starbucks.
Bearing sci-fi vibes, the mugs and cups here are finished in metallic or iridescent sheens. Perhaps most compelling of the glassware is the color-changing mug depicting an astronaut’s headpiece that starts out unoccupied, but gradually reveals the mascot’s head as hot liquid is poured into it. There’s also an orb-shaped bottle to bring the Force into your daily cuppa.
Elsewhere, the Space Bear range offers an adorable Captain Bearista-shaped bag, or “storage bucket,” for keeping small items in.
As of now, the collection is only available in China, but here’s some good news for Starbucks lovers everywhere: the company is testing a safe and clean way to “borrow” reusable cups when you make drink orders.
