As Gucci turns 100 this year, the luxury fashion house remains one of the world’s most coveted fashion brands. And to kick off the celebrations, Gucci has debuted ‘Aria’, it’s latest co-ed collection. The best part? It’s a special collaboration with Balenciaga.
Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele has described the partnership as more of a “hacking lab” than a “collaboration.” Here, the fashion house borrows from various Gucci eras and mashes them up with elements of Demna Gvasalia’s Balenciaga.
Many of the items in the collection, including blazers, fur jackets, and hats, don commemorative “100” and “Savoy Club” branding, a reference to the label’s anniversary and the hotel Guccio Gucci worked at before founding the label respectively.
If you’re looking to get into the mood, the brand has also released a collaborative playlist on Spotify and Apple Music. Gucci also created a full retro puzzle booklet to tease the collection, so you might also want to check that out.
This partnership with Balenciaga may be Gucci’s highest-profile collaboration to date. Offering retro ready-to-wear outfits, bags, accessories, and shoes, fans are bound to be jostling to get their hands on some Aria pieces. Watch Gucci’s magical Aria film below.
