Although society might be crawling towards pre-pandemic normalcy, it isn’t business as usual just yet. If you’re nostalgic for smells of simpler times, how about ‘Thursday Happy Hour on a High Table’? With notes of bourbon, White Claw, and a hint of Cheeto, it’s like you’re right back at your favorite hangout.
Advertising agency R/GA has released a new line of scented candles, cleverly named
Eau d’Office, inspired by places you never thought you’d end up missing. As per
Fast Company, creative directors Katie Facade and Thibault Gerard had originally launched the candles as a goodbye gift for a couple of coworkers, but they were so popular they’ve now made the scents available to all.
You can choose from six different scents of times past, including: ‘Breakfast Leftovers in Edit Suite 1’, ‘Warm 96 Page Deck Left on the Printer’, ‘Sushi Thursday at the Café’, ‘Room 12F.1 After a 6-Hour Workshop’, and the most popular, ‘Afternoon Rush at the Coffee Bar’.
Gerard and Facada worked with Candle Studio over Zoom to create the candles, trying to get the scents as authentic to their old office spaces and routines as possible. “For us, it was less about creating ‘perfume-perfect’ scents and more about combining some of the scents to conjure a specific memory,” said Gerard.
Want to get your hands on these nostalgic scents? Although there is currently a limited quantity available, R/GA has said it will restock by popular demand. Just visit its dedicated
Instagram page to place an order or indicate your interest. Soon, your home could be smelling just like the printer room in your office.
