Canada’s Denim-Forward Olympic Uniforms Aren’t Fitting Well With The Internet

So many events were canceled in 2020 as the coronavirus pandemic took over the world. 2021 is the time to redo everything that was missed out last year, including the Olympics.

In preparation for the event, many countries have shared their official Olympic looks, and this includes the US team, whose uniforms were designed by Ralph Lauren. The Canadian team has also launched its own uniforms that, unfortunately, have raised a few eyebrows.

For the closing ceremony, the athletes will be rocking a jean jacket with Japanese street art mixed in. Other garments include a red jacket with a big maple leaf on the back, a white T-shirt with a maple leaf in a red circle on the chest, a jacket with the word “Canada” on the back, and a pair of track pants with a maple leaf graphic on the leg.

According to the designers themselves, “the graffiti graphic and unexpected patch placements capture a youthful and celebratory feel.” The garments, however, set the internet ablaze, with many sharing their opinions regarding the design of the Canadian look.

Social media users claimed the garments appear confused and chaotic as a whole. “Jean Jackets. I wish I was joking,” wrote one Twitter user. “I am screaming. This is Canada’s closing ceremony fit. Cancel the Olympics,” tweeted another.
