Japanese equipment firm Yamazen has created an electric fan that is capable of dismantling and folding down when wintertime arrives.
The company designed the High Living Fan after finding out that the average electric fan can be bulky and takes up too much space in tiny Japanese homes. When not in use, the High Living Fan can be taken apart and folded down, shrinking down to a third of its usual size.
The appliance looks like any conventional fan at its upright state, measuring 92 centimeters (36 inches) in height. When it is ready to be stashed away, users can place the shaft, cord, and remote control at the bottom of the base, while the fan blades themselves can be placed placed at the top of the base. The space-saving feature allows the fan to go from 36 inches to 23.5 inches (9.2 inches) in height.
Users will not have to worry about the accumulation of dust on the blades as the front of the fan is covered when stored. Disassembling and putting it together is easy, as well. All it takes is four steps, demonstrated in an accompanying instruction guide.
The fan comes with eight different wind speeds and different functions, including four-step swing, rhythm operation, and a timer, which can all be operated using a remote control.
Priced at 11,880 yen (US$108.96), the fan is available to purchase on Yamasen’s
online store and home electronics stores nationwide.
