As is tradition, Shutterstock is back with its annual challenge of recreating Oscar-nominated films’ posters in the styles of famed pop art artists. Despite the empty theaters, shuttered movie sets, and shuffled release dates of the past year, the upcoming 93rd Academy Awards is hope that Hollywood is getting back to work.
This year, inspired by world-famous pop artists such as Banksy, Peter Max, and Johanna Goodman, Shutterstock designers had to use only its collection of over 300 million pictures, videos, patterns, and textures to re-imagine the films’ posters. Its list also includes films that debuted on streaming services instead of movie theatres.
Showcasing the infinite possibilities of stock assets, the designers bring together iconic art, masterful storytelling, and creativity to inspire something beautiful and new.
