Zoom Adds ‘Vanishing Pen’ For Easier Presentations, Multi Skin Tone Reactions

Video call platform Zoom is adding several new features aimed at boosting communication, helping users express themselves, collaborate, and manage meetings more effectively, the company announced this week.
The updates include new emoji options for Meeting Reactions. According to CNET, instead of the current six that are available, Zoom is increasing it to approximately 40 different emojis.
Users will also be able to choose the skin tone of the emojis, making it more inclusive for the Zoom diverse user base. However, if you’re using the app through your workplace, administrators will need to enable the full emoji set (a one-time download) before you’ll be able to access it.
Another feature is Zoom’s new vanishing pen, which will let you highlight text and objects when sharing your screen. Instead of having to undo or erase your markings, they will fade over time, making it easier to present uninterrupted.
For those who use Zoom through an iPad or tablet, new whiteboard auto-shapes will help you draw straight lines, perfect circles, and other shapes during meetings. Other updates include being able to access Zoom through the Facebook Portal TV. Plus, if you’re an account owner of workplace administrator, you’ll also be able to add a user’s manager to their Zoom profile.
An important added feature is that Zoom Phone users will now be able to trigger and receive mass notifications using InformaCast from Singlewire Software. This allows them to stay informed about crises or emergency events, and allows organizations to communicate regarding crises at a moment’s notice with all staff and stakeholders.
