Samsung’s Sneak Peek At Its Future Foldable Displays Makes Galaxy Fold Look Old

Just last month, Samsung unveiled a new advertisement campaign promoting its new foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G.
It seems that foldable technology isn’t going anywhere soon, with Samsung now letting in on a sneak peek at its next-generation displays.
The highlight from the series of prototypes is the S-foldable OLED display, which is a smartphone that folds not just once, but twice. According to the company’s press release, the 7.2-inch screen serves as a tablet when completely expanded, but fold it twice, and it turns into a smartphone.
Another bendable device Samsung has previewed is a 17-inch OLED panel. It resembles a laptop monitor when open fully, then becomes the size of a 4:3 aspect ratio tablet when folded in half. The device shows both sides of the screen being used to multi-task, with one on Microsoft PowerPoint and the other using Word.
Aside from foldable displays, Samsung also showcased a new slidable OLED screen prototype. While it looks like a regular smartphone, the side of the device slides out to increase the size of the screen.
For computer geeks, Samsung is also introducing an under-panel camera (UPC) for its laptops. By using a UPC, the tech firm will be able to maximize a laptop’s screen by doing away with the bezel and mounting the camera under the panel instead.
