Justin Trudeau Perplexes With Fake ‘MacBook’ PC Slapped With Apple Sticker

People would do anything for at least a semblance of an Apple product. Buy a lookalike sticker to mimic the iPhone’s square-shaped rear camera. Get a cheese grater to stand in for the US$6,000 Mac Pro.
But if your laptop is the one thing you can’t live without, how about making the upgrade to a MacBook? If you think creatively enough, there’s no need to spill thousands of dollars for one.
Members of the press and social media users were thoroughly amused upon discovering a bizarre photo of Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau posed with an “Apple” laptop. Apple is in quote marks because the image, which serves as the cover photo for the Liberal Party’s Team Trudeau Training portal, sees him laughing in front of what looks to be a Windows computer with a white Apple sticker right smack in its middle.
On closer inspection of the device, Toronto Sun journalist Bryan Passifiume learned that the Hewlett Packard branding was hidden beneath the Apple logo. Meanwhile, the large screen next to Trudeau, which was projecting what was being shown on the laptop, revealed the Windows interface.
On top of that, the laptop was connected to a black, round charger cable instead of Apple’s white, squarish cable.
Needless to say, people were confused, but a Liberal Party spokesperson has since brought the matter to a close. Trudeau isn’t a pretend Apple fanboy with a (Micro)soft spot for PCs; that isn’t even his laptop.
Braeden Caley, a representative of the Liberal Party of Canada, told VICE World News that Trudeau had borrowed the laptop from a volunteer. “It’s a volunteer laptop that Justin Trudeau borrowed for a moment in the volunteer hub… when he dropped by to thank volunteers virtually,” he explained.
