There’s the iconic Ray-Ban aesthetic. Now, be prepared for the sunglass silhouette of the hour: the Off-White look.
The streetwear label by Louis Vuitton menswear artistic director Virgil Abloh has unveiled its first
full eyewear collection. The bold, angular, and oversized sunglasses are a nod to the Off-White design philosophy of architectural linearity and gender fluidity.
“I don’t believe in gender, only design,” Abloh described of the genderless, colorful silhouettes. It goes without saying that the eyewear also sports Off-White branding, including its logomark and “Arrow” emblem.
Prices start at US$270, and preorders are now open, ahead of a June launch with selected retailers and luxury fashion platform Farfetch.
However, if you’re not ready to part with your savings just yet, you can soon try the shades virtually, according to a report by
Complex. In addition, Off-White has created an
AR filter for mobile users to test the eyewear on Instagram, which is available now.
Photographers Tanya and Zhenya Posternak were headhunted by Abloh himself to helm the campaign’s shoot, which features models Helena Christensen, Justine Biticon and Lil Dre.
