North Korea Bans Skinny Jeans, Mullets, Logo Tees For Being ‘Capitalistic’

North Korea has now called for a nationwide ban on skinny jeans, mullets, and some body piercings.
Alleging that these fashion choices are symbols of a “capitalistic lifestyle,” leader Kim Jong-un feels more has to be done to prevent such trends from overtaking the country, reported South Korean broadcaster Yonhap news agency.
The country’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmum, published articles expressing concerns over youth people embracing “Western” fashion trends, as per The Guardian.
Wanting to crack down on such “anti-socialist behavior,” the country has now banned all but 15 styles of haircuts, as well as issued an order to maintain “proper” hairstyles.
On the ban list are mullets, spiky hair cuts, and dyed hair. In addition to hair requirements, fashion statements such as skinny jeans, nose and lip piercings, as well as logo tees are also no longer allowed.
“We must be wary of even the slightest sign of the capitalistic lifestyle and fight to get rid of them,” North Korean officials told Rodong Sinmum.
