Twitter Is Giving Out 140 NFTs For Free

Twitter has released a set of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), with 20 pieces available in each of seven unique designs. The digital artworks can be viewed on popular marketplace Rarible but are not for sale, as the social media platform is handing them out directly for free.
The seven designs come in the form of quirky animated gifs related to Twitter, with titles such as Rare Form, Vitamin T, and Furry Twitter – which shows a GIF of a furry Twitter logo blowing in the wind.
Reply Guy – a marble statue holding a smartphone with the app open – is another eye-catching one, with the others including twttr jggl, First Born, and Building Characters.
While the NFTs are not for sale via Rarible, there are still bids being placed by users of Ethereum-based marketplace.
Twitter is giving away the NFTs to users to reply to its tweet announcing the giveaway, with some of the NFTs already awarded.
According to The Block, under Twitter’s terms, the owner of the NFT will be able to display the artwork for their own personal, non-commercial use, but the company still retains its right and title. Should the owners use the NFTs commercially, they will be required to pay a fine of US$100.
