3D-Printed Personal Office In The Woods Could Be Your Life With A Subscription

As a society, we make our way through the gradual post-pandemic reopening of the world with a newfound appreciation for a conducive work-from-home environment. This comes after Zoom meetings and trying to keep focused despite a less-than-conducive work setup at home have become commonplace as a result of social distancing and lockdown enforcements.
Enter the newest project by startup Denizen: the ‘Archetype’ pod. It’s a 90-square-foot smart personal office that can be set up anywhere in the world with minimal permits. The way to access one is by signing up for a Netflix-like subscription.
Made of sustainably harvested timber, 3D-printed biopolymers, and metal cladding, the unit’s weatherproof design is suitable for mass production, and the pods are cheaper and faster to build than a traditional office building, per Yanko Design.
The pod is connected with everything required for a full day’s work: tech features boast 120V AC outlets, USB charging, high quality speakers, and multiple 4K cameras and microphones, to name a few.
Other elements include an adjustable desk, whiteboard wall, heating, and cooling system, and windows made from privacy glass. There’s even a mini-fridge for workday snacks.
“There is a major unmet need in the shift to flexible, remote, and hybrid work, and it’s going to take conventional real estate decades to catch up,” declares Nick Foley, CEO of Denizen. “Even prior to the pandemic, offices were expensive, distracting, and inconvenient. A better solution was needed. We’ve created a space so inspiring that it will change the way you want to work and live. And by offering it as a subscription service, we make it natural for employers to give their teams a professional, connected, and safe work environment.”
