Tommy Hilfiger is set to continue its string of high-profile celebrity collaborations with its newest launch. Following names like actress Zendaya and singer H.E.R., actor and activist Indya Moore is next on the list, collaborating with the iconic brand on a Summer Pre-Fall 2021 capsule collection.

Moore is known not just for their portrayal of Angel Evangelista in television show Pose, but also for their activism and representation of the transgender and non-binary community. They were also one of Time’s ‘100 Most Influential People’ in 2019. Their insight results in a wonderfully structured collection: essentially, iconic Tommy styles now redesigned with gender inclusivity in mind, ensuring that there is something for everyone.

“My own experience struggling to identify with mainstream fashion informed much of our design process,” Moore says to Stylist. “Gender-neutral collections don’t automatically mean oversized and baggy. The point isn’t to hide your body – it’s meant to be a celebration of the body.”

The Tommy X Indya collection was designed “without gender in mind” and the pieces are size-inclusive: clothing, undergarments, shoes, and accessories, with clothes ranging from XXS to XXXL. The ultimate aim of the collaboration, when boiled down, is to create pieces that anyone can feel comfortable putting onto their body. As Tommy Hilfiger himself states, “Great style knows no boundaries.”

“This has always driven my dream to create fashion for all,” he explains in a statement. “This collection embodies everything we stand for. From the design process to the campaign, the Tommy X Indya partnership is here to make people feel seen, accepted and included.”

This collaboration is also part of the brand’s People’s Place Program, which strives for better representation within the fashion industry and to ensure better opportunities for creative talent within BIPOC communities. In line with this ambition, Tommy recruited four strong activists to feature in the campaign alongside Moore themself; Chella Man, Gia Love, Cory Walker, and Pidgeon.

In addition to this, Hilfiger has also donated to three charities which work to protect the LGBTQ+ community: Rainbow Railroad, Reuniting of African Descendants (ROAD), and the Global Coalition.

“This capsule goes beyond great style,” said Moore in a L’Officiel magazine statement. “It breaks a cycle and sets a new standard across the industry. Too many people are made to feel that something is wrong with them just for being themselves.”

“It means everything to me to know that with our capsule, no one is made to feel wrong or different or broken. Everyone works perfectly for this collection, no matter who they are.”
