Hong Kong has just opened an art exhibit not only solely dedicated to dogs, but for dogs as well. Given that they’re the muse and inspiration behind the artworks on show, it’s only right for them to be invited along, surely.

Dog Art Exhibit 2021 is hosted at Harbour North shopping mall in Hong Kong, which reached out to artist Michel Keck as the sole artist in this exhibition. More than a total of 50 pieces of abstract art, life-sized 3D dog sculptures and digital art are shown, joyously showcasing more than 40 different breeds of pup.

To accommodate the patrons of this show, some adjustments have been made. For example, the digital art is looped in blue and yellow for the dogs to see more easily, and a number of the paintings are hung much lower than usual to accommodate “dog eye level.” Not all the pieces are made by Keck, though; some of them are works created by a “painting partner”: his own dog, Rogan.

That’s not all, either: there are interactive pieces, like the giant food-bowl-shaped ball pit and a bouncy water bowl for the pups to enjoy, reports Time Out. Apart from being a bit of fun, this gives them the chance to interact with other four-legged art gallery patrons too.

“Everything about my art career has been unconventional!” writes Keck on his blog. “My Hong Kong dog art exhibit is definitely about as ‘UNartworld’ as it gets, and that is why I LOVE what I do!”

Due to the density of population in Hong Kong, there aren’t many spaces that allow pets to join their humans on a day out. The Dog Art Exhibit 2021 is set on course to change that, and hopefully we’ll see more endearing celebrations of our four-legged companions in time to come.
