Tesla Adds New ‘Bioweapon Defense Mode’ Filter That Equips Cars Against Attacks

Tesla is introducing an updated version of its Hepa filter, which boasts a ‘Bioweapon Defense Mode’ as a standard fixture on new Model Y electric cars. The firm had first started including the air filters in its Model X and Model S cars.
The special car filter is said to be 10 times larger than a regular car filter, and claims to be “100 times more effective than premium automotive filters.” It’s said to remove “at least 99.97% of fine particulate matter and gaseous pollutants, as well as bacteria, viruses, pollen, and mold spores,” as per Electrek. At full power, Tesla said the filter can even protect against bioweapon attacks.
While the Model 3 didn’t have enough space for Bioweapon Defense Mode, the Model Y is spacious enough to accommodate the new filter. According to Electrek, Tesla has transitioned over the past month to installing the larger filter in Model Y vehicles produced at the firm’s Fremont Factory.
