Disney Replaces FastPass With Personalized ‘Disney Genie’ Theme Park App

Ever wished you had your very own genie? Well, now with Disney Parks’ Disney Genie service, you will.
First unveiled at the D23 Expo in 2019, this app-based feature will allow guests to plan their trips, with expert tips to guide them. The Disney Genie will be added to the pre-existing My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps this fall.
If you’re a traveler who likes schedules, Disney Genie includes a customizable itinerary that will help you map out an entire day at one of the theme parks. You’ll be able to choose from specific attractions, restaurants, and shows.
Visitors can also pick from different interests, such as Star Wars, Disney princesses, or thrilling rides, with the app providing personalized recommendations for each category. Plus, the tool will update you throughout the day should conditions change.
According to Deadline, the existing FastPass, FastPass+, and Disney MaxPass services at the parks will also be replaced by a new ‘Lightning Lane’ entry. From US$15 a day at Disney World and US$20 a day at Disneyland, guests can choose the next available time to arrive at their rides using a dedicated entrance.
“Disney Genie listens to the preferences that guests share with us to help design their best day and deliver an experience that’s made just for them,” said Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, Josh D’Amaro.
