Following the launch of Apple’s
all-new iMac lineup earlier this year, rumors have surfaced that the tech giant is working on major redesigns for its MacBooks and the Mac Mini, too.
9to5Mac and MacRumors both cited
Bloomberg tech reporter Mark Gurman, who had news that a new Mac Mini with an “M1X” chip could arrive as soon as “the next several months.”
The “M1X” chip has yet to be announced, though it’s speculated that the company has been working on an upgrade to its popular M1 chip currently being offered.
Alongside the upgraded processor, the new Mac Mini is also expected to come with new features, including more ports being added to the desktop computer. Rumors indicate that the new model could be geared towards power users, and will likely be at a higher price point than the current one, as per
Engadget.
For those keener on Apple’s laptops, the brand is slated to introduce redesigned MacBooks this fall, which will also offer the upgraded “M1X” chip. Chances are, the MacBooks will come in an
array of pastel colors, just like this year’s iMac launch.
