Walmart is introducing GoLocal, a new delivery service that will allow businesses access to the company’s fulfillment centers, trucks, and other infrastructure needed to get their products to customers.
The company said it has currently managed to reach nearly 70% of the US population, as per
Input. The GoLocal service will include delivery of a wide range of products, including those of complex sizes and shapes. There are also plans to expand its offerings to more services in the future.
Right now, the only ways individual businesses can get their goods shipped on their behalf is through
Amazon, or if their online store runs on Shopify. However, with more sellers looking to branch out, Walmart provides a good alternative with GoLocal.
“Walmart has spent years building and scaling commerce capabilities that support our network of more than 47,000 stores. And we look forward to helping other businesses have access to the same reliable, quality, and low-cost services,” said Walmart CEO John Furner in a
statement.
