Apple Announces Free Global Service To Fix iPhone 12 Receiver Issues

Recently, users have reported that some iPhone 12 models aren’t emitting any sound when making or receiving calls. In response, Apple is introducing a new worldwide service, and its very first for the iPhone 12 lineup, to fix the issue.
Apple explained that “a very small percentage” of the devices globally may have experienced sound issues due to a faulty component on the receiver module.
The free repair service will only be extended to iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models, not the iPhone 12 Mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max. Affected smartphones were likely manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021.
If you’ve been encountering such issues, service members at the Apple Store will check to see if your smartphone is eligible for the free repair. Customers can also send in their iPhones to Apple using its mail-in service.
According to Gizmodo, the service program will only be valid for devices up to two years after the purchase date.
