World’s Largest Aircraft Weirdly Draws Awe For... Looking Like A Huge Butt

British developer Hybrid Air Vehicles has unveiled the world’s largest aircraft, but instead of admiration, viewers had quite a different reaction. And that’s because it looks like a giant posterior.
The airship, named the Airlander 10, was originally designed back in 2010 for use by the US military. According to Futurism, it was intended to carry out surveillance missions in Afghanistan for up to two weeks at a time. However, after two years in the making, the project was canceled.
Hybrid Air Vehicles didn’t give up just yet, keeping the idea alive should the demand for commercial airships ever return. Well, it was right—sort of.
Another company, OceanSky Cruises, is planning to launch a luxury air cruise experience to and from the North Pole, recreating the historic trip Norwegian explorers went on in 1926, as per CNN. And now, it’s confirmed that the Airlander 10 will be the vehicle of choice.
As the airship has the ability to fly slowly and at low heights, tourists will be able to savor picturesque views of local wildlife and scenery, which wouldn’t be possible in a regular airplane.
“We can go down to 300 feet, even 100 feet if needed, as slow as a bike, in order to offer our passengers a glimpse of those polar habitats,” pilot Carl-Oscar Lawaczeck told CNN.
As expected, due to its rather hilarious shape, the Airlander 10 has already been given a whole slew of nicknames, including “the floating bum,” with users on social media even calling the aircraft “thicc.”
Could travellers look past the airship’s peculiar shape to enjoy a luxury cruise onboard? Perhaps, but they might end up the butt of the jokes for a while.
