Lunchables Introduces $100 Boxes That Take Snacking Adventures To The Next Level

Lunchables, the brand that has made playing with your food acceptable for over 30 years, is once again letting you play architect to your snacks in dramatic fashion. This month, the buildable snack company is taking over New York City’s iconic FAO Schwarz toy store and Rockefeller Plaza’s storefront windows with giant food sculptures—and it’s packing a few goodies to go with them.
Apart from displays of a six-foot-tall Cracker Stacker rocket ship, a Kabobble Trojan Horse and Pepperoni Pizza UFO, this tie-in will see the launch of limited-edition ‘Lunchabuilds’ kits designed for an “immersive, creativity-fueling experience.”
Rolling out exclusively at FAO Schwarz’s physical and online stores, Lunchabuilds push Lunchables’ snack assembly culture to another tier, and are designed to delight architects, explorers, or biologists at heart.

Each pack comes with instructions for building a food model, but it also takes things into the real world with tickets for one kid and one parent or guardian to actual landmarks.

The Explorer Building Kit invites young astronaut hopefuls to visit the Virginia Space Flight Academy, Camp Kennedy Space Center, or the Space Center Houston; the Architect Building Kit gives them a taste of New York’s Empire State Building, Seattle’s Space Needle, or St Louis’ Gateway Arch; and a Biologist Building Kit offers tickets to the San Diego Zoo, the Bronx Zoo, or the Omaha Zoo.
With the real-life experiences, the boxes are apparently worth more than US$2,000. However, they’ll be on sale for US$100 from September 3, while stocks last.
