Apple Warns To Keep Your iPhone Off Motorcycles If You Want Its Camera To Work

Recently, Apple added a new page to its support website, warning iPhone users that exposing their devices to certain vibrations found in “high-power or high-volume motorcycle engines” could cause damages.
First spotted on MacRumors, the tech giant said placing smartphones too close to such engines could cause issues for iPhone cameras with optical image stabilization (OIS) or closed-loop autofocus (AF) technology.
The former helps to ensure pictures are less blurry, especially when snapped in motion. The latter then aids the camera in maintaining focus.
According to Mashable, every device since the iPhone 7 has at least one of those features, so almost all iPhone owners could be at risk.
To be extra safe, it’s suggested motorcycle riders keep their iPhones in their bags while riding, instead of attaching the phone onto the bike’s chassis or handlebars—which are still susceptible to vibrations.
