Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak To Launch Private Space Firm ‘Unlike The Others’

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has thrown his hat into the space race ring, tweeting recently that he’s launching a “private space company” that’s “unlike the others.”
The new firm, named Privateer Space, says its key mission is to “keep space safe and accessible to all humankind.” Alongside Wozniak, Ripcord founder Alex Fielding is also co-founding the space firm.
In a short promotional video put up by the company, Privateer Space describes that it intends to “work together to do what is right and what is good.”
“Together we’ll go far,” it details. “We’ll look out for one another. Solve problems together. This isn’t a race; it isn’t a competition or a game. We are not one person, one company, one nation. We are one planet.”

“So here’s to taking care of what we have so the next generation can be better together,” it says.
Wozniak hasn’t revealed much about his space venture just yet. According to CNET, the company’s website simply states “the sky is no longer the limit,” and “we are in stealth mode.”
It does, however, reveal that Privateer Space will be present at the Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance Technologies (AMOS) Conference in Hawaii this week.
As Privateer Space adds itself to a growing list of space ventures, including Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin, Elon Musk’s SpaceX, and Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic, it remains to be seen just how different Wozniak’s firm will be.
