Tesla’s Model 3 & Model Y Get More Costly Overnight Thanks To Price Hikes

If you’re planning on getting a Tesla, it’ll be best to do so soon, as the brand’s Model 3 and Model Y vehicles have seen yet another price hike this week.
Earlier in the year, Elon Musk’s electric car firm had already increased prices, citing supply chain issues as the main reason.
However, this week, the prices have climbed once again, with the Model 3 Standard Range Plus costing approximately US$41,990, and the Model 3 Performance retailing for US$57,990.
According to TechRadar, the cost of the Model 3 Long Range AWD remained the same, while the Model Y saw an increase of US$2,000 on its basic model, and a US$1,000 increase on its performance model.
It’s also worth noting that a new federal incentive could see buyers awarded with up to US$8,000 for buying an electric vehicle, which would go a long way to covering the price hikes and then some.
Considering that the company’s looking at ways to simplify production, such as replacing multiple car parts with a single piece, hopefully manufacturing costs will come down in the near future, and the prices won’t be hiked up even further.
