‘A Quiet Place’ Is Being Made Into A Video Game, Will It Be Scarily Good?

It’s not uncommon to watch a film like A Quiet Place and wonder, “How would I survive that?” Well, now you can put your theory to the test, for better or for worse.
Video game developers Saber Interactive, Illogika, and Ep1t0me are working on a video game based firmly in the same universe as the 2018 hit film: a post-alien-invasion world full of predatory monsters who can’t see, but more than make up for it with their scarily sharp sense of hearing.
In the film starring Emily Blunt, the narrative follows a family struggling to stay alive in this horrific situation, a feat made only more difficult by the fact that there are young children around, including a newborn. As we all know a little too well, it’s not really possible to keep babies entirely silent when we need them to be.
After its success in 2018, a sequel was released in May this year and currently has a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
“The amazing success of the A Quiet Place movies makes it clear audiences are hungry for more adventures in this universe,” states Todd Hollenshead, Head of Publishing at Saber Interactive. “We are proud to say that A Quiet Place is the first game we will be releasing by an external studio from the growing Saber publishing label.”
In the new game, players won’t be following the same family’s story. Instead, an all-new original narrative will be delivered, one that is said to “capture the compelling suspense, emotion and drama for which the series is famous.”
It will be a single-player title and be driven by its horror-adventure-thriller story set in the terrifying universe of uncanny silence.
Apart from this initial announcement, there isn’t much other information about this new game, but this is expected to come later on. A Quiet Place Game is scheduled for a 2022 release, and more details and further updates can be found on its website and social media pages.
