NSFW: World’s First Unisex Condom Is So Comfy You ‘Don’t Realize It’s There’ NSFW

In one fell swoop, this unusual condom solves a number of frustrations about conventional condoms. “Once you put it on, you often don’t realize that it’s there,” says its inventor, gynecologist John Tang Ing Chinh. It also eliminates the need to clumsily slip it on during the heat of the moment. Most notably, it’s the world’s first unisex condom.
The Unisex Condom, designed by Malaysian startup Wondaleaf, can be worn internally and externally. That’s possible because it’s an adhesive contraceptive—allowing a male wearer to put it on without an erection and a female wearer to insert it vaginally—and the lower tendency of the product slipping off during intercourse makes it “a much safer contraceptive.”
In contrast with the usual rubbers, the condom is latex-free and constructed from an ultra-thin, medical-grade polyurethane material normally used to dress injuries. Its flexible, waterproof qualities mean that the Unisex Condom can be worn long before sexual activity, “so intimacy will not be interrupted,” say its creators.
Since the material is so slim, the condom can be worn even before foreplay without discomfort.

It’s also free-size, so a fit is always guaranteed.
Tang hopes that the condom will be a go-to contraceptive method to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases in his country.
The condom has been put through several rounds of clinical trials to great success, and it’s now scheduled for retail in December for an affordable 14.99 ringgit (US$3.62) per two-pack. Currently, the startup is only looking at a rollout in Malaysia, but that’s due to change. “We are working hard to ensure Wondaleaf Unisex Condom conforms with the rigorous standards required in each country, so we can bring you a safe and sensational product!” says the firm.
