There’s A Global Book Swap Going On Where Creatives Inspire Others With Reads

Every year since 2017, The Book Givers has been prompting creatives to share a glimpse of their worldviews and, in turn, be enlightened by the books that have shaped the minds and lives of other creatives.
Artists, makers, designers and other creative professionals are invited to join a global book swap in the spirit of giving during the holidays.
Created by German industrial and visual communication designer Sabine Staggl, the movement is rooted in the desire of “spreading knowledge and… inspiring each other.” Staggl is the co-founder of Noisli, a digital sound environment that promotes relaxation in work and rest with calming, customized colors and background noises.
“Books make such a wonderful gift: they can lift someone up, fuel curiosity, make us think and can change someone’s life,” The Book Givers’ website details. “Send a book that inspired you, receive a book that could change your life.”
Since the creative community drives this initiative, readers are welcome to exchange books about their own craft or literature stylized in unique designs, or simply books that have inspired them “because of the content, story or [their] meaning.” With that being said, the book you choose should be in English to be understood by a reader from another corner of the world—and if not, it should primarily feature illustrations.

Those interested in joining the swap this year will have to enter their interest by November 14, as it’s important for the books to reach their new owners before Christmas.
Participants will receive the address of their recipient via email on November 15. They’ll be matched by random, though organizers guarantee that recipients won’t be exchanging reads with their gifters.
Noting that delivery fees can be pretty expensive in certain countries, The Book Givers says that participants can choose to send their favorite books via platforms like Amazon and BookDepository, which provide free worldwide shipping.
