Banksy Painting Gets Destroyed By Christopher Walken In TV Scene Within Seconds

To end things with a bang, a BBC One television series pulled a Banksy on a Banksy by destroying an original artwork of the elusive street artist in the finale.
According to the Independent and the New York Times, Christopher Walken painted over an authentic Banksy mural in Bristol in the closing scene of The Outlaws, available to watch for British viewers to watch via the BBC’s iPlayer. Being a seasoned actor, Walken completed the stunt in one take (of course), cleaning the wall where the painting used to be in seconds.
In the scene, Walken’s character, Frank Sheldon, has to complete community service. His task? Clean up a graffiti-ridden wall.
Not knowing the mural’s true value, Frank reports “this rat I found” to his supervisor (played by Jessica Gunning). She’s not looking, so he elaborates that it is not a real rodent but a painted one. “Council said paint over any graffiti, so crack on” is her reply.
In his defense, Walken’s character does stress that the artwork is “awfully good,” implying that it would be a waste to paint over it. However, the inattentive supervisor remains resistant to engage.
Frank shrugs and wipes out the original Banksy work in six strokes.
Big Talk Productions, the producer of the limited comedy thriller series, confirmed that “an original Banksy” had been erased, “ultimately destroying it,” quotes the Times.
