Louis Vuitton Got LEGO To Bake Up Its Cake For Founder’s 200th Birthday

A birthday celebration is in order for Mr Louis Vuitton, who would have turned 200 years old this year. The foundation he’d set for the longstanding luxury house is worthy of something majestic with unbreakable structural integrity, so, as a birthday surprise for fans, the label enlisted LEGO to build its founder’s birthday cake.
The cake is crafted from 31,700 LEGO bricks, with Vuitton’s face and first name fashioned at the front. It even has a checkerboard interior, nodding at the duotone colors of Louis Vuitton’s monogrammed products.

A group of children helped to “pipe” LEGO DOT patterns onto the cake, which is also adorned with LEGO flowers.

It would be unacceptable for a gateau of this stature to arrive in a regular cake box, so a Louis Vuitton trunk was created just for it. Since every component of this cake can be taken apart neatly, the carrier has its own drawers to store the LEGO pieces too.

The yummy artwork celebrates “the creativity, imagination, and colorful world of youthful minds,” says LEGO.
