TP-Link Reveals Wi-Fi Router With Motorized Antennae That ‘Follow’ Your Devices

Internet access is almost guaranteed in today’s world, something that many can’t live without. But sometimes, trying to optimize connection is extremely cumbersome, and its nuances might not be common knowledge either.
One of TP-Link’s newest Wi-Fi 6E routers is the Archer AXE200 Omni, a model with antennae that “follow” your devices around the space and adjust automatically.

Although most routers do have antennae that can be adjusted to suit the users’ locations, these tweaks have to be made manually. And it’s not guaranteed that everyone will have the know-how to optimize the adjustments, either.
So, the Archer AXE200 Omni takes all the pain of that away by doing it on its own.
Four motorized antennae, one on each corner of the router, are capable of independently moving and rotating according to where the devices are located. Through this, the router will be able to automatically provide a strong signal regardless of where the device is.
The tri-band router works on 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and the new 6 GHz bands, per Gizmodo. The router itself also comes with a 10G and 2.5G ethernet port to connect to devices that require a strong and consistent connection, such as consoles or gaming PCs.
The new 6 GHz band “exists without overlap or interference,” TP-Link states in a press release. This will ensure users can enjoy more bandwidth alongside faster speeds and lower latency. Things like AR/VR and live-streaming will benefit from this.
Recently, the router was also named an Innovation Awards Honoree at CES 2022.
No pricing or availability information has been made available yet, but Gizmodo has noted that regular Wi-Fi 6E routers are priced around US$500 apiece, which could see the Archer AXE200 Omni costing even more than that.
