Airbnb Is Seeking ‘Housekeeper’ To Live Free In Remodeled €1 Sicilian Townhouse
Last year, towns in Italy made the news for offering up homes for just €1, with one region not even requiring a deposit. Airbnb has since jumped at the opportunity to snag a place in Sicily, which it has renovated into a chic townhouse perfect for short getaways.
Now, as per Time Out, the rental site is looking for a “housekeeper” to live in the property for free for a year, while letting out the bedrooms on the site.
Yup, that’s right. Just for that, you’ll get to enjoy the rest of the three-story villa on your own, as well as keep all the earnings from hosting guests.
Situated in the village of Sambuca, the house has been reimagined in bright shades, including a fiery red that immediately conjures feelings of rejuvenation and vacation fun.
Fittingly, as per Insider, Airbnb is looking for an “adventurer with a passion for hospitality” to look over it.
The home comprises an en-suite master bedroom, two living rooms, a kitchen, bathroom, and cozy work nook. The mezzanine bedroom, which will be up for rent via Airbnb, rounds it up.
The “housekeeper” won’t even be required to speak Italian, though it’d be helpful if you’re living in the country for an entire year. You do have to be English-speaking and over the age of 18, however.
You’ll have to spend a minimum of three consecutive months in the villa, and facilitate the renting of the spare bedroom for nine. Airbnb will cover the costs of your flight there, plus four cooking lessons with a local.
All other expenses will be self-funded or recouped through earnings you receive from rentals.
