‘The Bev’ Is A Boozy Cocktail Equivalent Of Your Favorite Coffee Pod Machine

We all know of the classic coffee machine, a staple in many lives that keeps us caffeinated and functioning. In a world where a daily coffee habit can stack up to some pretty hefty expenses, investing in one of these could help to save some time and money. 

Same goes for cocktails, or so says Black & Decker.

At CES 2022, the appliances and tools manufacturer showcased a boozy equivalent to the coffee pod machine, equipped to hold up to five different liquors of choice at any one time. 

Its name is short and sweet, just like its mixing process: ‘The Bev’.

Straw tops are inserted into standard liquor bottles, no decanting required, and these can remain standing upright. When activated, the machine will use the straws to pull liquor straight out of the bottle.

The Bev utilizes a flavored capsule—created in collaboration with Bartesian—with real juice, extracts and bitters inside it. Apparently, the entire mixing process takes just half a minute. Digital Trends reports that the pods are priced around US$15 for a pack of six.

These are inserted into the machine and mixed with water and a liquor of choice—and boom, out comes a cocktail.

The strength of the cocktail can also be customized easily with a dial, with the settings ranging from ‘mocktail’ to ‘strong’.

Boss Hunting reports that the Bev is planned to become available later this year in the US, while Black & Decker and Bartesian are working on taking this to other international markets as well.
