As with art and most other things, there’s a polarity with the boons of non-fungible tokens. Today, we’re looking at the other side of the coin, the face (or, rather, faces) with the promise to inspire the next generation of digital users.

NFTs appear to be here to stay, so the United Nations is embracing this flourishing industry by sending across a most positive message. According to crypto art collection Boss Beauties, the global organization has selected its avatars to be the first-ever NFTs it will ever display.

We are proud to announce that Boss Beauties will be the first NFTs ever to be on display at the United Nations.

Not only does this mean that the UN is supporting the future of digital art, but it is also casting the spotlight on a population traditionally been overlooked in technology and leadership roles.

My oldest wasn't too happy she didn't get a chance to choose a @BossBeautiesNFT with her sisters. So she just choose her first NFT. And it was another @BossBeautiesNFT 🥰 wise choice pic.twitter.com/OoW3ONACjx

Boss Beauties is a women-led global series that aims to empower “girls and women at the forefront of technology, leadership, and creativity,” according to its website. To create its 10,000-strong collection, it sought Gen-Z designers, social entrepreneurs, and other changemakers to envision the appearances of powerful women they want to see leading the world. The heartwarming project took eight weeks to complete but sold out in an hour.

The collection is an extension of My Social Canvas, a 10-year-old nonprofit that strives to provide education and mentorship to budding female role models. Proceeds from the NFT sales will not only help finance the series and owners of the tokens, but also help the platform “continue [its] mission to support young women in designing the life and career they love.”

For now, the UN hasn’t disclosed when or where the artwork will appear.

Thank you @BossBeautiesNFT for stopping by yesterday and sharing this wonderful #bossbeauty in honor of Louise Jones, the youngest woman member of the @NYSE. We will display it proudly. 🎨🏛 pic.twitter.com/hpGlARwn5J

As manifested in the name, though, Boss Beauties is already making amazing strides on its own. It was the first NFT collection to be displayed at the New York Stock Exchange, and has scooped up collaborations with pop-culture giants like Marvel and Rolling Stone magazine.

The minimum price for a Boss Beauties work is 2 ETH (about US$6,000), and there are about 5,400 collectors holding on to a piece now.
