Nintendo Tempted Players With Switch Chocolates, Then Dashed Their Dreams

For Valentine’s Day, Nintendo tweeted what seemed to be the perfect snack to accompany a day of staying in and battling your other half on Switch: chocolate Switch Joy-Cons.

What could be a better way of saying “I love you” to a gamer than a chocolate Nintendo?

The intricately-decorated sweets even featured all the buttons seen on an actual Joy-Con, leading many of the console’s biggest fans to clamor for information on where they could snag one for their sweetheart (or themselves!).

Unfortunately, it turns out that the delicious-looking chocolates do not exist and won’t be up for sale.

Nintendo only made the treats—which were created with milk and white chocolate—just for the social media post, much to the disappointment of gamers worldwide.

Even the post’s caption, which read: “Who would you share one of these with? Tag your player two and let them know” led fans to believe the candy would be up for sale, and no doubt some were already waiting with their cards on standby to make the purchase. 

Alas, as per The Gamer, they would’ve been brought back to reality when Nintendo followed up with a disclaimer, saying: “Please note that this is a fictional product and is not available for sale.” 

Maybe next Valentine’s Day, Nintendo will quit the teasing and actually release sweet treats for gamer couples all over the world.
