Hollywood Sign Overwritten By The Rams Ridiculed As Typography Mess
With its hard-to-read letters, the new display at the famous Hollywood sign might appear as an act of vandalism to the uninitiated passerby.
In truth, it’s a legitimate takeover ordered by Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti as a celebratory tribute for the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI victory.
The sign now temporarily reads “RAMS HOUSE”—the football team's catchphrase—but you’d be forgiven for interpreting it another way. Members of the Los Angeles subreddit are seeing “HOMSVWOGE," “HAMS HOOSE,” “HAMSHWUSE,” and even “RAMS LOSE.”

As detailed by the Los Angeles Times, the choice of white letters for the banner is partly to blame for the illegible appearance, inviting the original “HOLLYWOOD” letters to peek through.
And the lush landscape, brimming in green thanks to recent rainfall, isn’t doing favors for the brown background, which was selected to blend into the normally dry surroundings.
Fans would have mixed feelings for the makeover. Readable or not, it acknowledges the hard work of the Los Angeles Rams, who won 23-20 against the Cincinnati Bengals at the Super Bowl.
The silver lining is that there’s no need to get your eyes checked for misreading the sign since everyone else is struggling too.
