Apple May Have Found A Way To Fix Face ID Instead Of Giving Out New iPhones

Previously, if your iPhone’s Face ID stopped working, there was no way to fix it but to replace the entire device.

Now, in a change, Apple could finally allow technicians to repair Face ID without having to switch out the smartphone.

MacRumors reported that a leaked internal memo from an anonymous source said a forthcoming TrueDepth Camera part will allow for Face ID and front cameras on iPhones to be fixed more easily.

As per SlashGear, there isn’t much else that has been revealed just yet. The memo hinted that an Apple training document could be released at a later date with further information on the new policy.

However, it’s important to note that not every user could get their iPhone repaired this way.

For example, those still using the iPhone X models would not be able to get Face ID replaced, as the new TrueDepth part will only work on iPhone XS or newer.

Fingers crossed Apple releases the new fix as soon as possible, so users won’t have to shell out for a new phone should Face ID stop working.
