These Cool Earbuds Aren’t Just Noise-Canceling, They’re Thermometers Too

HONOR, a China-based technology brand formerly owned by Huawei, has released its latest offering—the Earbuds 3 Pro—that do more than just play your favorite tunes.

In what’s been touted as an “industry first,” these noise-canceling earphones are not only ergonomically fitted to your ears but can also take your temperature on the go.

As Input notes, the feature, which had been previously rumored to be coming to Apple’s own AirPods, could be all the more important in this age of the pandemic, where many users would benefit from staying on top of any early symptoms.

Apart from measuring the user’s temperature, the Earbuds 3 Pro boast other advancements too, such as adaptive noise-canceling technology that can block noise of up to 46 dB.

Wearers can select from several modes of noise-cancelation, including an ‘ultra mode’ for ultimate silence, a ‘cozy mode’ that filters out background noise, an ‘awareness mode’ when you need to be alert, and a ‘general mode’.

Furthermore, the earphones come with a whopping 24 hours of battery life, and claim that just five minutes of charge can result in two additional hours of playback.

Pocket-lint reported the earbuds—available in black, gray, and white—will retail from €199 (US$222), with availability announced “in due course.”
