In the latest update of Twitter, you’ll now be able to directly view products from your favorite brands and influencers through a free-to-use Twitter Shops feature.
This pilot e-commerce program will allow merchants to curate a selection of the top 50 products to showcase on their Twitter profile, giving users the convenience of browsing and purchasing the items without having to leave the app at all.
According to SlashGear, Twitter Shops is currently only in beta testing, so the feature will only be available for select users in the US. The app could eventually roll it out to users worldwide, though there’s no clear timeline in place.
Upon clicking on a profile of a merchant with Twitter Shops, you’ll be able to see a ‘View Shop’ button at the top of their timeline.
Simply tap and scroll through the products it has on display, and once you’re ready to buy, select the item and you’ll be redirected via the in-app browser to checkout on the original site.
At the moment, merchants with the feature enabled include @Verizon, @LatinxInPower, @ArdenCove, @GayPrideApp, and @AllIDoIsCookUS.
