Volvo Teams Up With Starbucks So You Can Get A Cuppa With Your Charge

As more people adopt electric vehicles due to their environmentally-conscious impact, certain problems have emerged about getting the cars charged.

Firstly, there’s still a shortage of charging points for easy accessibility, though the White House has stepped in to build EV-charging corridors as part of several states’ highways.

The other main concern is charging speeds, as it can take up to an hour for a vehicle to be fully charged to head back on the road. 

To make the wait time more bearable, Volvo is teaming up with Starbucks to install 60 chargers at 15 outlets between Denver, Colorado, and Seattle, Washington. 

As per CNBC, there is set to be a charging stop approximately every 100 miles, and the points are scheduled to be set up by the end of the year. 

According to the automaker, its C40 Recharge can juice up a car from 20% to 90% in 40 minutes, allowing you to slowly sip on a cuppa while waiting.  If anything, it beats sitting in a parked car baking under the hot sun while twiddling on your smartphone. 

These chargers will be open to all EV owners with a ChargePoint account, though Volvo owners will be able to access them at no charge or a discounted rate.
