Maserati To Roll Out Electric Versions Of Its Entire Lineup By 2025
Maserati has announced it will be offering electric versions of its complete vehicle lineup by 2025, paving the way for luxury automakers to enter the burgeoning EV market.
In an even bigger commitment, it will be halting production of internal combustion engines and go fully electric by the end of the decade.
According to Engadget, the brand will start off its pivot to zero-emission vehicles with the GranTurismo EV, a 1,200 HP automobile slated to be released next year.
Dubbed the GranTurismo Folgore, this will be Maserati’s first-ever electric vehicle, though it doesn’t mean it’s giving up its reputation for speedy rides.
The electrified car will have a top speed of 190 mph, and promises to go from zero to 60 in less than three seconds.
Looking further ahead, the automaker plans to launch the EV version of the Grecale SUV and Grancabrio GT in 2023, follow by the MC20, the Quattroporte, and the Levante SUV by 2025.
