Match Group Launches New Dating App To ‘Stir’ Up Heat Between Single Parents
In honor of National Single Parent Day, the Match Group has launched its newest dating app, Stir, specially designed to help busy single parents find love.
With over 20 million single parents in the US, the app hopes to touch upon an underserved group in the online dating market.
“Having kids shouldn’t be a dealbreaker when dating,” said Dinh Thi Bui, the company’s Vice President of New Verticals.
“We’re dedicated to giving single parents a dating experience where they are celebrated and feel like they can be themselves. With that, our hope is that they can truly focus on having a personal life beyond navigating parenthood,” he added.
To start, users will answer a questionnaire on their personality and values, from which Stir will pair them up with potential matches. Once they’ve found someone they fancy, they’ll then be able to arrange a date to meet up offline.
Not overlooking the problem single parents face with packed schedules, the app will introduce the concept of ‘Stir Time’ to make planning dates a whole lot easier.
The intriguing feature will allow members to display their “me time” schedule to matches, so both parties know when the other party is free to connect.
One in four single parents (27%) say coordinating schedules was a barrier to entry when going on dates, so ‘Stir Time’ could certainly be a better way for them to identify individuals with similar schedules from the get-go.
While Stir is free to use, it does offer a premium subscription starting at US$39.99 for one month or US$89.99 for three months.
