Following a three-hour outage that affected over a dozen programs, Apple’s online services are finally back online.
Users found that the App Store, iCloud, iMessage, and even Maps weren’t working, leaving them unable to play music, update apps, or purchase products.
According to TechRadar, Apple indirectly confirmed the blackout on its Apple Support System Status Page, where nearly 20 different services were marked with a red triangle as failing to work.
Hundreds of users reported the problem to tracking site DownDetector, with the first slew of complaints beginning just before 1pm (Eastern Time).
It appeared the issue first began with the App Store, then went on to affect Fitness+, Maps, and many of Apple’s iCloud-supported systems.
Bloomberg reported the outage had impacted the company’s internal services, hindering “product repairs, swaps, and item pickups.”
Fortunately, as perCNBC, most of the apps seemed to be back up and working again by 3.45pm.
Though initial downloads took longer than usual, the App Store was the first to come back online, followed by iMessages, Music, Siri, and finally Maps.
