Adidas Appears To Have Polished Its Logo For A More Minimalist Look

Adidas has sweated down its triple-striped logo in what looks to be a permanent branding shift.

With the triangular symbol being strongly associated with the brand, it seems the sportswear giant no longer sees a need for a wordmark. Its name appears to have been removed from the branding, as users of the Adidas app have spotted.

The logo reduction doesn’t necessarily mean that Adidas is perfectly content with the three stripes. It has even tweaked the spacing between the bars, closing the distance between them.

The refresh has been a talking point for the rumor mill for a while now. Last year, it was reported that Adidas was getting a makeover to prepare for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Things got more official in January, when Adidas opened an eco-friendly brand center fronted by the insignia in Harajuku.

FourFourTwo reports that the usual logo could be phased out soon, and its last appearance should be on the 2022/23 soccer season shirts.
